Jeff Tennery, CEO & Founder
Jeff Tennery is the founder & CEO of Moonlighting and has spent over 25 years in senior executive leadership roles at Verizon, AT&T Wireless, nTelos, and Millennial Media. Jeff has spent the past year “moonlighting,” helping friends and co-founders on nights and weekends build the first on-demand mobile marketplace. Prior to founding Moonlighting, Jeff served 7 years as the Senior Vice President, Business Development & Global Monetization for mobile advertising leader Millennial Media. He was responsible for delivering hundreds of millions of dollars annually across 50,000 applications worldwide and played an instrumental role in Millennial Media’s 2012 IPO.
At Verizon, Jeff was the Vice President of National Distribution, responsible for all third party mobile device distribution. In 2001, as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for TeleCorp PCS, Jeff was a key member of the executive team that facilitated AT&T Wireless’ acquisition of the company. In addition, Jeff served as Vice President of Sales & Operations at nTelos, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s 2006 IPO.
Over the past decade, Jeff has achieved great success in the mobile application economy, serving advisory roles to venture capital firms (Edison Ventures, Sycamore), as well as start-up companies in the mobile imaging (dotPhoto), mCommerce (Cardagin), mobile payments (First Data), mobile gaming (Sonic Branding, AirMedia), and mobile entertainment & media business (ESPN, Floop, Code9).
Roy Slater, COO & Co-Founder
Roy Slater is the Chief Operating Officer for Moonlighting and an operations and process excellence professional with over 20 years of experience leading UI Design, ROI optimization, and mobile technology development. Before co-founding Moonlighting, Slater served as an operations manager at Capital One Financial, where he managed digital properties with revenues in excess of $1.5 Billion. He is a Certified Scrum Master as well as Six Sigma Lean & Green trained with legal and compliance risk management skills. Proudly hailing from Claremont, California, Slater has held prominent positions at Lendingtree.com and Ditech.com/GMAC.
Ritesh Johar, CTO & Co-Founder
Ritesh Johar is the Chief Technology Officer for Moonlighting and architect of the proprietary mobile payments platform that powers the Moonlighting Marketplace. Before he co-founded Moonlighting, Johar excelled as a Technical lead where he designed, built, and managed the platform that generates $1B+ in mobile & online payments for Capital One. With 13+ years of expertise covering various aspects of software architecture, design, development, process and methodology for the Federal Reserve and Thomson Reuters, Johar brings a wealth of digital payments experience to his new venture.
Rob C. Masri, EVP & General Counsel
Rob C. Masri is an attorney and entrepreneur with extensive legal and business experience. Mr. Masri has started several businesses, including Cardagin Networks, Inc., a mobile marketing company that helps businesses build loyalty and customer rewards programs. Mr. Masri raised more than $5 million in financing for Cardagin and was featured in the Financial Times, Inc. Magazine and C-Net as a market leader and mobile loyalty pioneer.
Prior to founding Cardagin, Mr. Masri served as the Chief Development Officer for the University of Virginia Law School Foundation during the Law School’s $150 million capital campaign. Prior to joining the Law School Foundation, Mr. Masri was executive vice president of corporate development and general counsel of Multicity, Inc. and a corporate attorney with Cooley and Hunton & Williams LLP. Mr. Masri received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he still serves as an adjunct member of the faculty.
Caroline Marks, Director of Accounting
Caroline is the Director of Accounting. She handles all of the financial operations for Moonlighting and is a Moonlighter herself. Caroline earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Miami University in 1991. She currently resides in Jacksonville, Florida with her two children.
Rahul Katare, Director of Technology
Rahul is a technical architect, product strategist, and developer with more than 10 years of experience in enterprise application programming, software design, development and delivery in the field of Banking and telecom industry. He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication, from National Institute of Technology, Raipur India and loves writing code, eating food and sleeping.
Andrew Stafford, Senior Operations Manager
Andy is the Senior Operations Manager and has been with Moonlighting since 2014. He is a graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, where he concentrated on Marketing and International Business. A traveler at heart, he’s been to more places than anyone. Here in Charlottesville, he enjoys soccer, hiking, and playing with his two pups.
Matae Bartee, Senior Business Development Manager
Matae has done a little bit of everything at Moonlighting and currently spends his time leading the business development team. He believes in striving to become something greater everyday by staying positive and coachable. In his free time, he is considered to be a health geek and enjoys being outside, preferably on top of a mountain.
Jugal Shah, Software Engineer
Jugal graduated from The University of Texas with a Masters in Information Science. An analytical, self-starter and highly motivated individual, he is responsible for designing software, creating scalable APIs, building beautiful & usable web pages and providing production support at Moonlighting. He also loves volleyball, the Cowboys and tasty food.
Jenny Knizner, Director of Marketing
Jenny is a Marketing Director at Moonlighting. She leverages her expertise in design strategy, content marketing, and conversion optimization to develop customer-centric, intuitive user experiences and marketing campaigns. Viral Intwala, Mobile Application Developer
Viral is a mobile application developer at Moonlighting working on both iOS and Android Development. He completed his Masters in Computer Science with a major in Software Engineering at University of Louisville. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing football (soccer), and running.
Abhinash Khanal, Mobile Software Developer
At Moonlighting, Abhi creates frameworks for both Android and iOS native apps. He loves jumping back and forth between the two platforms and tackling the new challenges and constraints thrown at him during the development process! He’s fond of making terrible puns but says the act itself is pun-ishing at times.
Ross Ruffing, Senior Operations Manager
Ross is an easy-going guy who brings experience with small business development and freelance entrepreneurship to the Moonlighting team. His free time is spent with his family, usually outside – working on his small farm, traipsing around the Blue Ridge mountains, and traveling as much as possible.
Joni Lane, Director of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships
Joni Lane is a graduate of Radford University & Boston Architectural College with a Masters in Sustainable Design and B.S. in Interior Design. Joni began freelancing as a Graphic Designer, before joining the team full time to mange business relationships with existing national media partners and design the UI of the new native app. A New England sports fan who’s known for her facial expressions and love of the outdoors, she’s currently residing in Charlottesville, VA with her husband and 2 crazy pups.
Danielle Johnson, Business Development Manager
Danielle grew up in Charlottesville and is a die hard UVA fan. She graduated from Hampton University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Economics. As Business Development Manager her focus is introducing the benefits of Moonlighting to businesses and organizations while bringing moonlighters new, creative, and original Jobs to choose from. In her spare time she loves to travel and hang out with her niece and nephews.
