How do I report abuse or inappropriate content posted by other Moonlighters?
All profiles and posts have a report button in the ellipsis menu. You can also contact email@example.com, and we’ll take care of it.
How do I post a job?
Tap on Need to Hire? Post Your Job on the Home feed and fill out the required fields. See the full tutorial here.
How do I post a service?
On the home screen, tap on Ready to Work? Post Your Service and fill out the required fields, or from your profile, tap Add a Service to bring you to the same page. See the full tutorial here.
How can I draw more attention to my Services?
Developing your profile, adding skill tags and creating posts for each service you offer will help Moonlighters find your profile and posts. To further increase your visibility, upgrade to Moonlighting Boost to promote your services through mobile, local and social marketing.
Are there price limits when creating a post?
Yes. The dollar amount must be from $1-$100,000.
Are there price limits when sending money or an invoice?
Yes. The dollar amount must be from $1-$10,000.
Can I modify a post after I create it?
Yes. You may modify any post you create. You can locate your posts on your profile or select Profile in the bottom navigation and tap My Jobs or My Services. To edit, select the post you wish to modify, tap on the edit icon to the top left of the screen, make the changes, and then tap Save.
Can I cancel a post after I create it?
Yes. You may cancel any post you create. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation and tap My Jobs or My Services. Select the post you wish to cancel and tap the cancel button in the bottom navigation.
Who can see my active posts?
Anyone can see your posts.
Can I search for a specific type of post?
Yes. You can customize your feed by creating a custom filter or search for a keyword via the search bar on a feed page.
What if I want more info about a post?
When viewing a post, tap Contact This User to instantly chat, send an SMS text or email the Moonlighter who created the post.
Is there anything I can do to get more qualified responses to my job post?
Make sure that your post is in the right category and includes relevant job keywords. If your skill tags are too broad, consider replacing them with more specific keywords. Ensure that your post title is clear and include more details about experience and skill requirements in your job description.

Feeds & Alerts
How do I get more relevant job alerts?
You can customize your job alerts by categories, skills and location in Filters & Alerts. When creating or editing your filters, ensure that your skill tags to are specific and relevant to your expertise.
How do I view only jobs in my feed?
You can customize your feed by creating a custom filter or select Jobs in the toolbar.
How do I see only services in my feed?
You can customize your feed by creating a custom filter or select People for Hire in the toolbar to view people and services.
How do user ratings work?
When a job is complete, Moonlighting will ask the job owner to rate the Moonlighter on a scale from 0 to 5. We will notify the Moonlighter and give them the opportunity to rate the job owner. You can also leave a review for any Moonlighter on their own profile by opening their review page and tapping Leave a Review. The rating you see in your profile is the average of the ratings you’ve received from other Moonlighters. You can also ask request a review at anytime.
How do I advertise my skill sets?
To promote your skills, add both general and specific keywords to the Skills section of your profile and create posts for each service you offer.
How do I search for a specific Moonlighter’s profile?
From the Home, Jobs or People for Hire feeds, enter a name or keyword into the search bar at the top of the screen.
When should I pay someone who is doing a job for me?
Make sure to coordinate with the Moonlighter who completes your job, but we recommend paying them when the job is complete. Unless the job requires a deposit, it is generally a best practice to see the completed work.
I just completed a job, now what?
Ask the Moonlighter who hired you to confirm that the job is complete and then send them an invoice or verify that they are sending you a payment for the correct amount.
How do I receive Credit/Debit Card payments?
You can receive payments by setting up or connecting a WePay account in Banks & Cards. While you can use a PayPal account, you can only receive money using this method if the sender also uses PayPal for the transaction. Once your account is set up, funds are automatically deposited within two to five business days depending on your bank.
Are there any fees associated with a transaction?
While sending money is free, there is a small processing fee to receive money. View fees for each transaction type.
What happens if a Moonlighter does not fulfill the job?
The job poster controls payments. Therefore, if a Moonlighter doesn’t fulfill the job, the job poster does not have to pay. We encourage you to use the rating system and repost the job, if necessary.
What if I complete a job and the Moonlighter refuses to pay?
Moonlighting is an open marketplace that does not govern, guarantee nor warrant any agreements or activities between Moonlighters. We encourage Moonlighters to rely on their personal and trusted network of friends, family, and known colleagues to make the best decisions possible.
How do I change or recover my password?
On the Login screen, tap Forgot Password? You should receive an email with a link that will redirect you to create a new password. You can also update your current password within Settings.
Can I delete my Moonlighting account?
Yes. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Does Moonlighting conduct background checks on other Moonlighters?
Moonlighting provides an open marketplace and does not vet or conduct any background checks. We recommend that Moonlighters use their best judgment and consider using the elements of trust built into our marketplace.
I’ve exceeded my contact limit for the day – what does that mean?
Due to the number of interactions happening on the Moonlighting marketplace every day, safeguards are put in place to ensure that no spamming happens. To protect our users, we have set a daily limit of opening 10 new chats. If you encounter this, please create a service or job post so that other users can reach out to you.
